Over the course of one week at the National Hospital of La Unión, an international team of 29 volunteer specialists performed 72 complex surgeries — from cleft lip and palate corrections to treatments for hernias, burns, and polydactyly. In addition, for the first time in Latin America, two microtia (ear reconstruction) procedures were successfully performed, marking a medical and social milestone for the region.
Thanks to the financial and operational support of Mr. Car Foundation, we reached our fundraising goal of $50,000, which ensured all necessary supplies, medications, and logistics were covered — allowing every patient and their family to receive top-tier medical care completely free of charge.
The impact of this mission lives on in stories like Ian’s — a Salvadoran child who, after a successful reconstructive surgery, regained not only his face but also the confidence to face the future with a smile. Stories like Ian’s are a living testament to our philosophy: healing bodies, transforming lives, and restoring dignity to the most vulnerable communities.
This project in El Salvador became a model of international collaboration and solidarity, laying the groundwork for future missions in other countries. Because when compassion meets action, there are no borders for change.
